Position: Front End Web Developer, Web Applications Developer

Tasks: 

  • Built user interface for scientists to upload and create geospatial data related to plant and animal biodiversity. Notable features:

    • Interactive map-based drawing tool

    • Interactive maps to display and filter users' data.

  • Led initiative to rebuild suite of outdated applications. Sub-tasks:

    • Built versioned, npm-installable Angular UI component library

    • Built Angular-based boilerplate for use in each application overhaul, as well as for new application launches

  • Let initiative to internationalize Angular app

    • Wrote Node scripts to facilitate translation process: visually flagging translation items in live application, conversion between translator documents and Angular-compatible files, tests to keep documents in sync

    • Established procedures and documentation for maintaining i18n alongside app development
